I'm replacing the AMD HD7970 in my desktop (it's being re-purposed to the living room computer) with a new nVidia GTX 970.

It's been a decade since I've done nVidia.

What is the best Video Driver Scrubber out there these days? I want to make sure all traces of AMD software are gone.

Also, what tricks, trips, or funky procedures should I know about in regards to nVidia these days?

I have two Club Active DP to HDMI 2.0 adapters coming as well as three HDMI 2.0 High Speed Cables. I plan on using two with two HDMI cables to two of my monitors, and then one simple HDMI from the HDMI on the card to the HDMI on the third monitor.

This will be a simple 3 monitor workstation configuration, not a single desktop for triple monitor gaming.

I have already downloaded the latest drivers from nVidia's site and have them ready.

Windows 10 x64.

The last time I have ever needed any "driver scrubber" software was back on WinXP/Vista 10 years ago. I've never seen a case where it was necessary on Win7 on up.

yep DDU is really all people use these days..matter of fact its a little better supported for nvidia people since last i heard the dev didn't even own an AMD card. It works ok, but i dam sure dont use it every time anymore. Sometimes the amd drivers actually work better installing over the top of the previous driver. I doubt it helps anything but it helps us ocd people make are pcs better!:)

He's switching from AMD to NVIDIA, better be safe than sorry. I've heard quite a few horror stories regarding driver switching.

oh i dont disagree at all...better safe then sorry. My point was it not always helpfull:)

DDU worked like a charm when I switched from my 6950 to an Nvidia 960.

Thanks TL; I just noticed that windows wants to install AMD drivers, after I swapped to NVidia last month. DDU it is!

Aaand: found a bunch of AMD HDMI junk still installed even after the AMD 'uninstall everything' utility.
