"Driver got stuck in an infinate loop"

I am now getting a BSOD all the time when playing games now, saying that the driver got stuck in an infinate loop. I have a X1600 PRO and 7.4 drivers. I've tried uninstalling, using dricer cleaner, and reinstalling but no dice. thanks

If he installed another OS, then he wouldn't be able to play any games at all. Unless you're talking about Spectre VR or WoW.

Also, not to crap the thread -- have you tried some older drivers? My X1900 dies in certain games on anything past 6.7.

actually, not on ATI here, but I just got that same error for the first time using 158.19 forceware drivers on my sli rig.. then my machine started behaving strangely.. not posting on boot.. gah! I have yet to figure out what the deal is.. been too busy with other things..

I was having the same problem with my system, I'm 90% sure it was a PSU problem for me. I only got it when I had my iPod plugged in, 4 sticks of RAM, and my CPU at full speed.
