Drive sequence for case with a backplane?

I've got this Supermicro SC119TQ-R700U case

which has the BPN-SAS-113TQ backplane.

The circuit board numbers start at 0 and 0 is at the bottom left when looking at the front of the case. Then "1" is immediately above 0.

When I cable this, would it make more sense to follow their number scheme from the PCB, or start at the top then go down, then right.

Or maybe start at the top and go right and then down?

Or... when you're building a system, do you follow your own scheme and cable things up your own way instead?

Looking for logical answers so the guy following behind me will have minimal issues.
 
Cable it according to what someone looking at the front of the case would expect. Otherwise, the inattentive may swap the wrong drive when trying to repair a RAID...
