I'm trying to overclock my system, but it looks as though my DFI Expert bios has the max ram frequency I can select set at 233mhz. I'm looking under genie/dram settings/dram frequency (mhz), I select the dram frequency option, and the menue comes up that lets me set the frequency I want. Instead of being able to key in any number I want, like the FSB frequency setting lets me do, I have to select one frequency setting out of maybe 6. The max setting I can select seems to be 233mhz, but my ram can go to 260mhz. I hope I'm doing something wrong here. Thanks for reading!

your looking in the wrong place.

go back into the bios, you are prolly just picking the divider specs for the ram (in this case, you picked 233, a new setting, you want this @200), you have an area where you manually type in the FSB you want (or a drop down with 1MHZ increments to choose from), then hit enter and then save and reboot. it is located on the page BEFORE you enter the Dram config page..... you may have to update your bios, r u using the shipped bios? or did you update already???? i ask because the overclocking options are enhanced and or different with the most recent bios's, some of them are beta. i am running the latest beta on my Ultra D and the bios options changed from the original................i am referring to the DFI issues with my comments.................

how much experience do you have at this?, sounds like maybe you need to get real familiar with your bios options. when i first started, i would camp in the bios and explore everything, back in the day there wasn't much to change, but now, modern boards offer so much more.

here is a real good place to go for your DFI board>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>not that you can't get good help here too...............

Are you just trying to overclock your ram and nothing else? Because that would have minimal/no performance increases at all. Now, if you are raising your HTT as well, keep in mind that the ram frequencies rely on your HTT setting. if you have your HTT at 250mhz, selecting the option of 200mhz for your ram is actually ram:HTT of 1:1, so your ram will actually be running at 250mhz. I think this is where you are getting confused... setting your ram frequency relies on your HTT setting.
