Double Gromacs Core Less Efficient?

I've encountered something weird with the DG core, and it's caused a drop in production.

I noticed that with the old core my systems would stay maxed out on CPU cycles except when starting a new frame. When my systems first D/L the new core, the system would bounce from almost 0 to 100% inside frames. This was occurring on both P4 and Athlon XP systems. I'm talking about looking almost like a square wave, and period was maybe 3-5 seconds. But the strange thing came about when I rebooted my systems to install some new software. The same thing is occurring, but the period is longer, now it’s about 10-30 seconds. I’ve noticed production has picked up some, but it’still off of what it was with the regular core.

BTW, Im running the console under XP, with the ForceSSE / Forceasm flags and this has really impacted my Athlon system, but much less the P4.

Anyone else noticed this?

The problem is being researched and hopefully we will have an updated core to fix it soon.

There's a thread about it here:

OK thanks. Haven't been to the Folding Forum in a long time. Guess I need to spend some time there.
