I woke up this morning to find my HTPC and strongest folder (Lena64 is sig) turned off...umm...windows crashed no prob just turn it on....nuthin >_< ...unplugged it and tried again...light flickered once and then nuthing >_< ...tried reseting power stip...nuthin >_< ....now running late for work >_< now i have no tv or folding >_< AND IT ISNT EVEN A MONDAY!!!!!!!! grrrr....anyone have any ideas before i start really troubleshooting it...i figured it the power supply and if so...that just means i will get one with light :)

Try clearing the cmos. Then see if it boots. If not try unplugging everything and jumping the power supply with the wire trick, and see if the fans turn on. If you have access to another computer to swap procs, mem ect. try that.

A few months ago I had the same thing happen to my HTPC. The power supply died. I just pulled the cover and stuck another PSU on top of the old one till I had time to mount it in there. It's an Asus A7N8X Deluxe with a mobile barton @ 2.4 all tucked inside a Denon AV receiver chasis so I had fun with the 5 miles of cable on the new Tt 420 watt PSU.

I know having any dead part is bad, but here's hoping it is just the PSU. Good luck.

that sucks man i can tottaly empathize with you.

this morning i wake up and all my computers were down because of a bloody power outage:( man if this happens to often i'm putting in a generator;) gotta keep folding.

Try another Power Supply Unit.

why did I just read this as try another puppy supply unit? that's just wrong.

We have the answer....for all of you that suggested PSU...YOU R CORRECT :) got me a psu tester and a 500W PSU from Fry's and sure enough that was the colprit...man that pissed me off cuz it was TOOO early in the morning for that but all is up and folding :)

So..what was the other one you were running? You can probably send it back for an RMA to keep another PSU around in case.
