DOes UV light harm computer components

Hello i was wondering if putting a UV cold cathode light in my computer will decrease performance of my computer since i heard UV light could harm some of the hardware? Can anyone dispose or confirm this? thank you for your time.
 
UV light is used to erase EEPROMs and such. Any component still using a UV eraseable ROM will have the window covered up. But, I haven't seen any such ROMs on computer hardware in a long time...
