Does this work?

I was wondering if a 350W PSU would work for this set-up:

DFI "LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb"
AMD Athlon 64 2800+
EVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT (maybe a XFX 6800NU if i have enough money)
1024 DDR RAM (2x256+512 Kingston)
Hitachi 60GB 7200 RPM HD
Maddog Multimedia Sound Card

The PSU I have came with my brother's case (i jacked it off of him because my current CPU wouldn't boot with the old PSU)

I was thinking of upgrading SL450. Would this PSU also be future-proof? I upgrade not TOO often but when i upgrade it's normally big (CPU/mobo/video card/ram/HD)

NO

er...

YES

err...

depends
run your numbers
link me to the basic config, and link me to the supplies your considering
there are 500 watt supplies that wont run that, and there are 350 watt supplies that would
depends on the make and model, and how much the manufacturer lies :p

dont run the PSU bundled with your brother case, odds are you'll regret it
and no that Antec isnt future proof,.
it might not even run your config its an older model geared towards the +5V rail,
you need one with more amps on the +12V rail

350 watts? quite possibly, plenty of SFF PC's can pull that off using <300W supplies.

What really matters is that your power supply is *actually* a 350W supply, and not just a 150 watt powmax/superpro/deer/etc flyback power supply with a label change :D
