Does this match the expected performance?

I recently bought a 250gb maxtor 16mb cache driver as my primary hard drive. It's a master on the primary drive running ultra ata 133. As a secondary hd I have my old, trusty 120gb 8cache Hitachi drive as the slave on the same channel at ata 100. They're both on a nvidia nforce2 ata controller. Both have not been defragged and have write cache enabled. Additionally, the Hitachi drive is literally empty - with no data.

I ran an informal speed test (only once) via the windows system panel. And here are the results:
Maxtor:
Burst speed - 100.3
Sustained speed 52.4

Hitachi:
BS - 87.3
SP - 53

Do these results look normal to you guys? Or should I be running a better benchmark? I know this isn't scientific but I just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of my new maxtor.

The maxtor is definitely somewhat faster and more snappier but I was hoping to get a wider margin of victory on a synthetic benchmark. :)
The maxtor is considerably LOUDER though.

Dude those numbers sound about right to me, but you can check at storagereview to make sure.
