Does this look good for a VM server?

Thinking of pulling a trigger on this build, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Originally I was going to go with a white box build, but I figured, what the heck, for a bit more money may as well go with something more beefy that can take more than 32GB of ram. Going with 64 but I can always double that in the future by filling the other slots. In fact I may do it shortly after I build it, as it may be hard to find the same ram sticks later down the line, as products tend to change a lot.

Biggest thing is the ram, really not sure how to tell if the ram is compatible or not. Maybe someone who knows more about this than me can easily tell. Trying to look on SM's site, then trying to find the exact ram ID they list on newegg can be tough, as the product IDs don't really match and SM does not really list all that many choices either.

This build will come up to just under 3k after shipping, taxes, etc, so it's not exactly cheap, but not that expensive either to consider what I'm getting.

Not yet sure what virtualization solution I will go with yet. Probably Proxmox or Xen. I will try them out. I currently don't have a spare box that has VT on the processor so I can't test anything at the moment, so this will be a test bed for a while till I decide on a solution.

Better bang for buck seems to be: SYS-5017R-MTF for $759
It has dedicated IPMI port + dual LAN .... power supply wattage and slots are the trade off.

Use your favorite memory vendor's "memory finder" tool and plug in motherboard make/model to get a list of compatible RAM and then find it on NE Canada.

Thanks, no redundant PSU on that one though but come to think of it, my storage box is the one that's the most critical as a bad shutdown means corruption and damaged hard drives, this box wont really have any hard drives so it's not as critical. Think I may do just this. I can't remember the last time I actually had a PSU fail on me. This knocks off about 400 bucks off the price, brings it at $2,400 which hurts a tad less.
