i have a SLK-900a heatsink im using for my amd 2500@3200. Will this heatsink fit onto a 64 bit processor socket 754.

not without modification. the slk-900 has mounting clips that are meant for socket A.
s754/939 don't even have lugs on the socket for clips to attach to. you must bolt the heatsink to the motherboard.

Let's just say it isn't the same mounting. ;) You'll understand when you move up to the 64bit boards. Just get the XP-90 @ SVC. You'll be glad you did.

bolt it? im kinda not understanding what you mean by bolting a heatsink to the mobo.
the 754 and 939 mobo's have mounting holes.
some heatsinks use the stock retaining mechanism that comes with the board.
some bolt directly into the mounting holes on the board (you have to remove the retaining mechanism)

i like it though, cause you have have a fairly heavy heatsink without worry of ripping the socket off. added with the heatspreader on a64's, the core is relatively safe.
