Does Stock AM2 Cooler fit on a 939 Socket Board? Is heatsink discolouration a problem

Hi, just two quick questions...

1) Does Stock AM2 Cooler fit on a 939 Socket Board?

I have a Scythe Ninja 2 w/ 120mm (can fit a variety), on my 939.

I want to swap it with my AM2, which currently has the stock cooler on it.

I don't want to take the AM2 cooler off without knowing that it will go on the 939 board.

They look pretty similar, are they the same size motherboard mounts?
I have googled but am unsure.

2) Copper heatsink discolouration, does it matter?

The second question is, the Scythe Ninja 2's copper contact plate is discoloured on the contact surface.
It has dark patching of the metal. Is this usual due to the heat? It is still seemingly perfectly smooth. (It has been in use for a while).
I don't have a picture right now as it is applied to the 939 board.

Thank you for your unlimited knowledge!

yes they fit.. socket 754, 939, am2, am2+, am3 all use the same mounting braclet..

both my copper based heatsinks are discolored but doesnt effect the cooling.. if its smooth just leave it..

You're ok so long as there's no need to use the backplate from a skt 754 or 939, otherwise there is an incompatibility.
