does overclocking pci-express effectively overclock the GPU?

well, does it? My research seems to say no, but then -- what clock is the GPU basing it's own clock on?
 
you overclock your GPU core and memory on their own.

by increasing the speed of the pci bus and sometimes see a tiny increase or decrease in performance but it is not overclocking the card just the bus. i think i had mine running at like 105 on my last board. on a benchmark it gave me a few points more. real world would be like a fraction of a percent.
