Does Logitech make a corded MX700?

Well, simple question. I bought my brother the MX Duo for Christmas, and it basically comes with a Logitech Elite (cordless version) and an MX700 cordless mouse.

I myself today just purchased the Elite, to go with the Rig I'll be buying shortly, and was wondering if Logitech makes an MX700 but with a cord? I do NOT want cordless, as I don't want to worry about batteries.... and my computer room is tiny and not suited for it, regardless.

I really like the silver-black look of the Elite and the MX700, and noticed that the MX510/518 don't come with that colour scheme (at least not where I've looked).

Has anyone seen a corded MX700?

You're right... it looks remarkably similar. New question, then - does anyone know any key differences between the corded MX500, and the cordless MX700? (i.e. how would the 700 be a step-up in model number)

My roomate has the MX700 cordless, while I have a 510 corded mouse. I dont notice a difference in resolution with the mice.

I do however notice a lag when using his mouse, especially with the scroll wheel. The battery part doesnt seem to bother him, and I havent seen it run dead on him in over 2 years. There's no way I could stand using it on a day to day basis though.

Yeah, for my brother the cordless mouse works, because his machine is in a big room, that includes a TV (hence tv-output). However, my PC is in a dedicated, and small, "computer room", and cordless would be a waste for me, even with rechargables. I don't mind the cords at all... that's why I was looking for an equivalent mouse, because I like the MX700. Not too much flashy crap on it that I won't use, and no weird shapes and indents that make it ugly.

mx700 is a little heavier.

My roomate has to charge his everyday,

mx510 seems to be smoother

probably can get a good price now on the 500 or 510 because of the new 518 that just came out

The 510's don't come in black-and-silver, and the 518's are pretty expensive with flashy features that I probably won't use (I'm still pretty happy with my 2 button MS Optical Blue). I'm guessing the 500 is my best bet... It's also $20CAD at the local Staples... hmm.

I have an MX1000, pretty much the same cordless technology and batteries. The mouse is excellent. The batteries are nothing at all to worry about. The charge will last for 2 weeks of normal use and easily 3-4 days of heavy (like 10 hours a day) gaming w/o needing to be recharged. As long as you every now and again leave the mouse in its cradle overnight you will never have to worry about batteries.

Also, I dont notice any lag at all in my MX1000, no lag whatsoever doing anything, I really dont understand what everyone talks about with the lag on the MX700 and MX1000. The only lag on the mice is when they have been sitting still for 20 seconds and are in sleep mode, it takes a split second for the mouse to turn on and start tracking, that is all.

If the guy wants a rat tail, so be it.

FYI: The MX700 = MX500 (with a cord). Idenitcal stats other than the wireless part.

Yeah, the MX500 is the closest match. It doesn't however have the same sliver finish as the MX700. It's more greyish than silver.

Yep, my mouse is gonna have a tail, despite the fact that there are some damn good wireless mice out there... I stated my reasons for wanting a corded mouse :)

The colours look the same (MX7/MX5) on the website, but I guess I'll see if there's a different in person.

What's so different about the MX518? (as compared to the 500)
Is it really worth spending at least $50 more for a mouse?!

mx700 is wireless version of mx500
mx510 is enhanced version of mx500
mx518 is wired version of mx1000, which uses laser instead of led?
mx518 has high res for gamers who like to buy hardware instead of practice

mx900 is bluetooth, more roughly matches 700 than the 500

I have the same set up as you are thinking of getting.

Keyboard and mouse match up perfectly. :)

mx518 is still optical, the mx1000 is still the only laser mouse
