does case fans make a difference in oc'ing?

i plan on getting four 80mm case fans with my new comp, which will be a 2500+m oc'ed to 3200+ speeds.

will 4 of them make a difference in keeping my comp safe?

Yes.
have 2 of them intake, and 2 of them exhaust.
A side case fan is also a good idea... which would be an intake.

intake in front, exit in back, intake on side, exit on top (if you have a blowhole)

Well, at the back of your case, there should be two places for the fans... put the top one exhaust (blowing outwards) and the bottom one intake (inwards)...
Then at the front, you can have one intake, and if you have a side panel hole, have that one intake too... if you want... that should be good.

well, yeah, i shouldn't have said that for him... but it works better for me...
I have a Coolermaster Aero 7+, and the front of the blower for the fan is facing downward, so my bottom back fan is intake to give the Coolermaster a little extra air... it actually keeps it 1 C cooler on load

In mine, I have 2 intakes in the front, 2 outtakes in the back and an outtake at the top. (no side fans).

That way the 'air flow' (theoretically) would look like this:

preferably from front to back

it depends on your case really though

i have 2 fans in fron blowing in
one on the side blowing in
2 on the back blowing out
and one on the top blowing out

that sounds almost exactly like my old case. only thing is my old case had horrible intake even for four fans. be sure and make sure there's little to nothing blocking the intake.

Im getting an Antec P-160WF case. It comes with 2 120MM fans. One is the back and one in the front. Should this be enough for minor OCing? All the reviews claim it gets decent cooling with quality fans over quantity.
