Does aluminum keycap really worth that much?

high end keyboards can cost $1k + easily for certain parts when you are building your own, so it comes down to, is it worth it to YOU...

to be quite honest, I'm very tempted to buy it. But I already bought a brand new 57" samsung, and now needed a RTX 5060 to go w/ it. So getting a new keyboard and that kind of pricing on key cap seems a lot of spending

I am trying to convince myself as many reasons as possible not to buy it: for e.g., that metal keycap can generate 35,000V of static electricity and can fly my keyboard :D

Metal is more conductive, so it should build less charge...assuming it is properly grounded (probably not). ;)

the design / idea of hallow metal is very tempting
I had a set of metal keycaps. Zinc in my case rather than aluminium. They were awful because the high thermal conductivity compared to plastic made them uncomfortably cold in the winter. Aluminium is even more conductive than zinc, and so would be worse.

never thought of that. So what happens in the end? are you still using it? if your room temperature is at 20 deg. C, do you still feel the cold when you use the keyboard in the winter?

you know what I can do: I can just buy the numeric keypad for this winter, and see what happens
