Now im considered a smart man ( well people dumber then me consider me smart), and i know that lcds are not affected by magnets. Now with that said, could one use non shielded speakers with a normal mid tower setup ( tower a foot or 2 away from the monitor with a speaker inbetween) with out them, say affecting hard drives and such? I know you can have them next to crts, but they have a hair trigger, hell batts can affect them along with the earths rotation.

No, Lcd's won't be affected by speaker magnets. Unshielded speakers will affect harddrives.

Isn't that always the case? People shorter than me consider me tall at 6'2". :)

Anyways, no they won't interfere with LCDs, but it's a good idea to make sure your speakers are shielded anyway.

your connecting non pc speakers to your pc? just watch the pc and dont worrie about the lcd

the magnets won't do anything to your system.

Put them as close to your system as you like.

Between that and Dan going:
"And there's absolutely no magnetic hazard - you could sit a hard drive right on top of the sub driver magnet and do the data no harm."

I feel like the kid that gets talking into catching the snake or petting the stray dog " go on an touch it, it wont bite".
