Do the new Celeron D processors have Hyperthreading?

No and probably never will.

But 64-bit is coming to the Celeron next quarter. :D

I think it might come to the Celeron line when dual core P4's becomes mainstream.

B/c so many apps will be optimized for multiple threads.

P4 will be dual core (+ HT possibly) and
Celerons may be single core with HT.
 
That's a decent possibility. At first, I discounted the idea, but from a technical standpoint that makes sense. From a marketing perspective, the HyperThreading term being placed on the Celeron D but not the Pentium D may cause confusion as to relative product placement of the two lines.
 
this is what i think intel cpu's will be...

P4EE: dual core, HT, Larger cache, 64bit.
P4: dual core, 64bit.
Celeron: 1/4 cache, 64bit.

I think intel is going to be carefull about crippling their celerons, they dont want people buying $100 cpu's anymore and overclocking them to perform as goot as $600+ cpu's.

With that being said, I also think that they want 64bit computing to suceed, and having a 64bit celeron is important in migrating everyone to 64bit.

64-bit and multi-threads (and special instruction sets like SSE3) all need software support, so Intel has usually added those things across their full line to increase the likelyhood of software designers to code for their CPU's.

64-bit and SSE3 are easy just use the latest compiler to take advantage of.

However, multi-threading support is MUCH more difficult to support.

So I would THINK that Intel will add HT to celerons, so that ALL of their chips have some form of multi-thread.

IF all of their chips supported multiple-threads, it would definitely increase the likelyhood of software/game designers coding for it.
 
No never..... Celeron processors are low end CPU, they are not made for gaming or what so ever, they are made forsimple compting such as word processing and surfing the net.
