Do I really need NCQ?

I'm looking at getting 2x Western Digital 160gb SATAII drives and running them in RAID 0 on my DFI SLI-DR. These drives do not support NCQ, but I am wondering if I will see any real benefit to getting drives that do support it? Most of what I use my PC for is gaming, web browsing, music, email, etc. Would I see a performance increase with using NCQ enabled drives versus non-enabled ones?

While you're at it, you should also wonder if RAID 0 will do you any good. RAID 0 is great for long read/write transfers, but based on what you said, you won't be doing much of that.

As for NCQ, it's great if you do heavy multitasking or use the drives in a multi-user environment, but it looks like your drives will only see light to medium duty at most. You should be fine without NCQ.
