Do i need specific drivers for crossfire?

The other day i got 2 6870's, which is my first crossfire setup. I ran 3dmark vantage and got a score of 23k, while with 1 5870 my score was 21k. The 23k seems kind of low to me, so i was wondering if i need to get some kind of specific crossfire drivers, or maybe the 3dmark numbers are accurate. I have crossfire enabled in ccc. CPU is a 1090T BE @ 4ghz
 
Make sure the CCC crossfire setting is checked, Make sure you have the application profiles installed also. Use 10.10c and 10.9a I believe for the application profiles..

2 6870's should score between 26,000 - 28,000

If you change the drivers make sure to use driver sweeper.

downloaded and installed 10.10c after sweeping the old driver out i got a P23014 score with a gpu score of 24462 and cpu score of 19542, still seems kind of low :/

idk what im doing wrong to make my score 4k lower than what it should be. where do i get the crossfire profiles?

Your overall score is going to be influenced by your CPU just as much if not more than your GPU. What was your GPU score with a single 5870? Between 15-17k GPU score for a single 5870 is pretty typical, so 24462 GPU score with two 6870s doesn't really seem out of place. Your GPU score is nearly as high as my quad-gpu config. Really pretty impressive for mid-range cards.
 
and my brother just ran 3dmark vantage and got 28k with 2 470s and a stock 17 920 at 2.66ghz. i must be doing something wrong.

You're not doing anything "wrong", having PhysX artificially inflates your CPU and Overall score quite a bit, as is the case with his 470s. It doesn't mean anything.

That is why people generally focus on the GPU score only.

You could have him run it again with GPU physx disabled if you want a more apples to apples comparison and if you insist on putting emphasis on the overall score.
