sorry if this is a duplicate post

but anyway, im installing xp on my main pc, and it only detects the hdd as 131 mb. i have a 160gb hdd, and i was wondering if 131 was the maximum xp can detect on install.

The most WinXP will see is 137GB. You have to install SP1 then your drive manufacturer should have included some software to enable Windows to see the full 160GB afterwards.

My Maxtor came with the MaxBlast software for Maxtor drives and I had to run that after installing SP1 before Windows could see my full 200GB.
