Disk Problem, Bios see it, doesnt spin up

Ok,

So over the last week WoW kept crashing. Natually I just assuemed that the last patch had a new bug. Last night I get the blue screen. It turned out that a few critical fans had become diconnected, and I just assumed that the blue screen was processor/heat related. When I flipped the PC on it was in my upstairs office with no AC on it must have been around 95+. The drive was never got noisey, and is not that old. Its an 80G WD, with the 8mb cache.

Anyway, now the drive can be found and is seen in the bios, but it doesnt seem to spin up and load XP. I cannot feel it spinning or even the arm twitching. After it tries for a minute or so I get a "insert boot disk" or something to that effect. The HD case was a little cooler when I tried again, but who know it may have been so heat soaked that the inside was much hotter. I was getting frustrated, so I decided to let it be for the night.

Anyway I have read everything from a dead controller car, to a toasted motor, to a virus problem. I am a noob so any help will be appriciated.

I know it isnt a very scientific way of testing but the PSU seems fine because the floppy and DVD drive seem to operate. But no I havent measured the supply voltages.

To me it seems very obvious the drive it toast, buy a new one. The only other test would be to try it in a different computer. Chances are that will not help.

I have had disks do the same thing, appear in bios but not work. I think the motor was shot on them.

you can try to unplug other stuff, if it spins up then it's your PSU.
