Hi I posted a few weeks ago about this but it happened again. I'm formatting both of my hard drives (120gb WD and 40gb IBM) and when I deleted the partition on the WD I restarted the computer and now it's trying to boot from the cd again. I changed the jumpers on the hard drives from cable select to master and slave correctly, reset the CMOS, and then I changed the boot priorities. Still no luck. I then disabled the cdrom and floppy from boot devices, again no luck. I'm formatting the 40gb IBM right now so I'll post if anything has changed.

could you send a link to your previous post because im not really sure what your getting at.
thanks.

Well no need anymore, after I installed WinXP again it was fine. The only problem now is that my computer recognizes my Liteon 411S dvd burner as a regular cd drive. Any ideas?

make sure the IDE is in good condition and is plugged in nice and solid....check the jumpers? and yeah, drivers....if that fails, get new bios\windows service packs
