Digital Cable + TV in

Anyone know of a tv card that can recieve digital cable signals?
Basically something that would act like the digital cable reciever.

Well, Most digital systems require there specialized decoders, so you would probly end up still needing a CATV box before it goes to the computer. Sorry!

There are no digital cable cards. Cable companies use encryption and authentication and lots of other nasty stuff to prevent people from accessing their signal if they haven't paid. Like Rombus said, you will need the cable company's decoder box in order to receive digital cable. You can then hook that box up to your tv card. There are devices that allow your computer to send out IR signals to change the channel on the cable box. Also, you will probably see digital tv tuner cards out there; these are for receiving digital broadcasts over the air, not from digital cable.

No you dont. I use to have a cable box emulation program. When my Maxtor exploded I lost it and havent even looked for it since. Basicly you just selected which cable provider (it was a bit more in-depth), and you got all the channels. I got porn, movie channels, everything but parperview and on-demand tv.

I might look for it tonight, if I find it again I will let you know.

tonpu - Rombus is right; most digital cable systems use authentication and encryption that makes using a video card problematic.
