I have a dfi ultra infinity mobo with soundstorm and am looking for a set of speakers.

I am a newb and do not quite understand the whole digital / spdif thing.
This is what I think I know:
soundstorm bypasses something to get better sound
Soundstorm only uses the optical output, not the analog line-out
it can uses coaxial (on the back on the motherboard) or optical (on the actual mobo ?)

my question is what is a good speaker set (most likely 2.1) to take advantage of the optical sound. I read a thread about this but it sounded like they recommened a soundcard and use line-out or build your own by hand. I want to use optical out and not buy anything besides the speakers.

I have looked at the z680's, but i don't really need lotsa channels and people say good 2.1 is better than okay 5.1 (z680).

Also should i just go with analog promedia 2.1's for simplicity and good sound? Price range is 100-150.

thanks for any help
