Different core temperatures?

Hey all,
I am a little confused about the temperature readings I am getting from my e6400. I have a small OC on it and I am running two instances of CPU Burnin to heat things up. Trial edition of Everest reports a CPU temp (55 celsius) and the a temp for each core which are much higher around 75 celsius each. Is this normal? Which temps should I look at for OC'ing...trying to keep it under 60. My mobo is an Asus P5W DH Deluxe.

I think core temps are a hard thing to determine.

Running my 6300 at full load with stock speed and cooling Speedfan was reporting ~48 C, but coretemp had it up around ~58 C.

What program is reporting 75?

All of the temps came from Everest...it gives 3 CPU temperature readings, one labeled CPU then one labeled "Core #1" and one labeled "Core #2". It was the Core temperatures that were around 75 with two instances of CPU Burnin running. I have backed my overclock down until I can figure this out...or spring for a scythe ninja :)
