Difference between different audigy 2's?

Hey guys, first of all let me ask, is it worth it to upgrade from a turtle beach santa cruiz to an audigy 2 for my new computer?

Secondly, I am looking on newegg for sound cards and am seeing several different kinds of audigy's 2's that range from 50 dollars to 200+. There is audigy 2, audigy 2 zs, audigy 2 platinum, what is the difference between all of these? I see a few small differences between them but I'm not really sure if there is any difference in sound quality.

So what is different abou them? Thanks for the help :)
 
your right about the small differences because there all the same they just bundle with different things.
 
I'd say it's only worth upgrading if you plan on doing heavy gaming and you NEED EAX. Otherwise, for music and movies, I think the turtle beach SC is on par with the Audigy's. (IMO, from personal experience. )

And like you said, there's only minor differences. Most of the sound quality comes from just updating the drivers (or using the cracked ones).

Audigy 2 = regular audigy
Audigy 2zs = added 7.1 output
Audigy 2 Platinum = comes with the breakoutbox for recording/various inputs.

Software packages are different too, but I can't give you specifics
 
Some cards have different connectors too. The Audigy 2 Value for example gets rid of the Firewire and Game Port, and is only a 6.1 card. Unless you're looking at an OEM Audigy 2 at the $50 price range, you're probably looking at the Audigy 2 Value.

I managed to find the OEM Audigy 2 quite reasonably. For most people, it's a good choice. If you're not gaming though and want high quality for MP3's or home theater, the M-Audio Revolution 7.1 beats the Audigy 2. The Audigy 2 wins hands down for games.
