Difference between ATA100 and ATA133?

I was just wondering what the difference between ATA100 and ATA133 is and if it would make that big of a difference when purchasing a new drive. Thanks in advance.
 
Only maxtor supports ATA133 (to the best of my knowledge) and there's zero realized performance differences between the two.
 
Ahh, thanks for the replies. Sorry, I didn't notice there was already a thread on it, but in my defense I did search, just must have missed it.
 
i just bought 3 samsungs and they are ata133. fast and almost silent. definately faster than my maxtors, i just dont knwo how much... I went from 15 sec boot from after bios initializing to about 5... .

So far i like these drives....
