I get this funny feeling, that isnt really very funny, that it did not send the work that it had finished. Is there anything I can do?

Can you show in the log where it completed 100% and then on forward?

Unless its a known fault on Stanfords part then there no extension of the deadline and not always even then.
Once the final deadline has passed then thats it, Zero points.

What hardware are you running the SMP client on ?
From the looks of it you only had a few hours to spare when you finished cruching the WU.

repeatedly. The unit finished around 6 AM actually. But that was several hours too late.

The issue isn't really with hardware. I missed this deadline because I went out of town this weekend and it did no work from Friday afternoon to late Sunday evening. Then network instability did not allow my cores to run enough.

I think I am going to have to just disable my wireless card whenever I am not there to watch over it. If I allow my computer to sit idle for about 5 minutes, the wireless has a very short lapse, and its all over for SMP. I can't tell you how many times I have woken up to find this out.

I apologize, upon re-reading this little bit makes me sound like an insufferable know it all. Tiger, you asked my hardware, here it is.

Long story short, the packaged drivers, and the ones I have downloaded from their website do not work correctly with my computer for some reason. I end up using the built in wireless controls with XP. I have a feeling thats not the BEST way to do it, but as long as I am sitting at the computer it is not a problem, I stay connected.

Check in Hardware Management for your network card hardware settings.
Device Management -> Card -> Properties -> Power Management.
Untick the box "Allow the Computer to turn off this Device to save Power".

Always check its not that reason your networks drops when idle.

If not the other option I can think of is running the client inside a VM.
Upside:- The client is independent of the outside network, so you dont need to worry about a dropped connection.
Downside:- The VM will not release resources like the plain client does, so the box will not be so responsive.
