after reading this article - and i must admit i really cannot judge if this guy is dribbling shit or knows what he talks about - i must say i'm impressed. so i give it to the pros: does this guy exaggerate or is this a prossible future scenario?

Quite interesting. He knows his stuff when it comes to technology but I'm not too sure if I agree on his business-side theory.

well.. i read it.. but i have no idea what to think...

i do remember playing lemmings, crazy cars, and karate kid on my amiga 1000.. we had full color screens, stereo sound, and a gui operated OS at home.. but at school we used apple IIs with amber screens.. or were they green? i don't know...

if the ps3 does come out.. and is 10 times faster than a normal comp and can run linux, i might have to get one..
 
The architecture of the cell is pretty cool and definitely scaleable. However, there are points in the article that he just starts waxing ecstatic. I don't personally see cell killing the PC. I would see cell augmenting the PC though: right now we have video cards, in the future maybe we'll have a slot for a cell daughterboard that will help make our games faster. Or it could be built in somewhere.
