Hopefully this is the right place to put it, but if not then I humbly request that a mod move it to the proper sub-board.
I just recently moved into a new apartment (as in, within the last two weeks). Unfortunately, my desktop is currently collecting dust because I lack a desk. I noticed by clicking through various image threads that many people on [H] have some pretty sweet home office setups, so I decided to ask for recommendations from the general [H] population.
I value and use (well, probably 'waste' is more accurate) alot of desk space. Right now I have a 23-inch monitor, but have plans to upgrade to a 30-inch sometime in the future. I will be using both when that happens, so I'll need space for 2 monitors. I'll also need space for a pair of not-small powered studio monitors (strictly for music and audio listening, M-Audio BX5a Deluxe if you need to look up dimensions), an external DAC + headamp, a work laptop, a large mouse pad, and the prerequisite keyboard and mouse.
I'm looking to spend between $200 and $300. Basically, the bigger and more cost effective the better.
