First post! so...like...taker easy on me...eh?

Ok, I saw stresstest's neon desk setup, and I've got a good mind to ...well...'use him as inspiration'....yeah. I've got a glass/steel desk, and want to put white neons around the inside of the main surface bars, ie the ones that support the glass work surface.

Here's the catch, I want to use an underbody neon kit from a car setup. Since cars and computers both run on 12v, this should be no problem, aside from one thing: I'm not sure of the amperage required from a car neon transformer. If it's less than say 6 or so amps I have a PSU that will work fine with this project, but if it's 10 amps...well...that's crasay.

I'm good for the wiring, and switches and all that stuff, I just need to know that this won't not work after I spend all that money getting a kit.

Any input? Other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

sounds like a cool mod to me! :)
I always wanted to get a glass desk and put blue leds on the back of it and see if it will glow in the front.

.....heyyyy....that too is a good idea, sir. I'll be sure to give that a try at some point. Perhaps covering the glass surfaces with the same size piece of plexiglass, and edge lighting that?
