I recently purchased a Silverstone TJ07 case and plan to WC in the coming weeks and maybe add another 7800GTX 512 to the pc for SLI. I'm still unsure of what parts to use though. I was contemplating just buying a swiftech kit and danger den 7800gts 512 blocks but the pump is too weak. I can assemble one with close to two times the flow rate with a better block etc for the same price. This will be the first time I've water cooled BTW.
Parts I'm thinking of using:
Danger Den Laing D5 Inline 12vDC Pump
HW Labs Black Ice Pro II Radiator
120mm Scythe SFF21E S-FLEX Case Fan (49 CFM/20.1 dBA) x2
Swiftech MCRES525 "BAY RES" Reservoir (Fits 5 1/4" drive bay)
1/2" ID (3/4" OD) Tygon R-3603 Laboratory-Grade Tubing
3/8" NPT, 1/2" OD Threaded Hose Barb (for 1/2" and 7/16" ID Tubing)
Swiftech Storm Rev. 2 Extreme Performance Universal Waterblock - 1/2"
+ 7800GTX 512 danger den water blocks or two for SLI (though this would be insanely expensive and probably hard to mount and configure the hoses) I notice a lot of people recommend GPU coolers and ramsinks but I want to avoid having heatsinks permanently attached to the ram.
The PC wanting water treamment is:
Opteron 170
2 G.Skill Extreme PC4000 HZ ram
DFI Lan Party Expert
7800GTX 512 (maybe an extra)
Antec Truepower II 550W SLI non EPS version (only has 19A on each 12V rail. I'm worried this PSU might not be adequate... Go Antec!)
2x WD IDE HDs 2X WD Sata HD
Possibly a DTS live sound card
TV Tuner possibly
I still have no idea how to go about planning the most efficient and ideal WC setup for this pc/case. Nor have I any idea how I would add a second 7800GTX 512 + waterblock.
The primary reasons for this:
I want to learn something new. Not to mention it would be nice to cool this opteron and gpu in near silence since fans are grating my nerves lately. I also want to push the CPU and GPU past what air will allow.
