Dell U2412 driver is out!

i saw that but wasn't convinced it was definitely a driver for a monitor. despite the name of the file, the desciption suggests it might be for a "hard drive" and the compatibility list suggests a whole host of Dell systems and PC's?

they do seem to have a hard drive with a part number of "U2412" as well which makes things confusing:

thoughts?

It's definitely a driver file for a monitor called the U2412m. The file contains the inf and icm files for the monitor. When you install it says this..

If it is a new screen I would expect to see it showing up around August, if the timing is anything like the U2410 (evidence of which also showed up around this time 2 years back)
New features? I doubt there'd be much over the U2410. I'd mainly be wondering if they've went LED or not..

Interesting. I just bought the U2410 a couple months ago, but thankfully I'm more than happy with it.

ok thanks for checking :)

Hope they fix the tinting issues from the U2410 or there is no point...

At my previous work place I was working with over 15 of the U2410 monitors, and they are awesome when there is no tint and are properly calibrated. At my current workplace I've been working with 4 different U2410s.

I personally went through 3 U2410s and could not get one with no problems. First one was calibrated to be piss colored on all modes and had tinting. Second was perfect but after 3 days dead pixels developed. Third was calibrated nicely but had worse tinting than first. :(

Not many of the ones at work have very bad tint or calibration issues, so I swear they must have stricter quality control for business sales or something. Because all 3 of my personal purchases were bad...

I have since gone with a Samsung F2380MX which I liked alot, but was too small. So I switched after 2 months, to a U2711. :D

No problems with my U2711.

The official model is u2410m without h. I think we can still hope for 16:10
