Dell Screwup?

Hi all,

So I decided to treat myself to a low-end Eyefinity setup (which has got to be an oxymoron) this Christmas, and ordered three monitors from the Dell Outlet. I'm not a fan of used electronics, but I'd heard good things about the Outlet, don't really care about (minor) cosmetic blemishes, and I'm thrilled with the refurbished Nikon I bought from Newegg.

It says very clearly on the billing confirmation page from the checkout process that I'd ordered three P2210H's. The Outlet page says they have 80 available as I type this.

I double checked at the time because I was worried I was going to accidentally order the wrong thing.

What I received from UPS yesterday is *I think* three regular P2210's - no "H" anywhere to be found.

I noticed when I couldn't turn the resolution up past 1680 x 1050. The packing slip isn't very helpful, but the screen appears to be 22" rather than 21.5".

So,

Before I call them this afternoon and get these replaced, I just wanted some confirmation that I'm not totally missing something. The regular P2210's aren't even listed on the Dell Outlet website, which is strange. Are they failing to distinguish between the two? There seems to be a pretty big difference, besides the max resolution the screens are a different size. Is the website just wrong about what monitor is available? Maybe the $160 price for a 1920 x 1080 and a display port is too good to be true?

Anyone successfully receive a P2210H from the Dell Outlet store?

Thanks in advance,

-HD

The model/serial number is usually found in the OSD, that's where I'd check. Assuming your OS read the ID correctly though they did indeed "f" up.

Just an update, in case it helps someone else on the interwebs:

Dell had sent the wrong monitors. They over-nighted the correct models, and paid the return shipping for the wrong ones at my insistence. Getting through their phone support sucked, but that's not unusual, and once I could finally talk to the guy who could actually help me, I didn't have any problems.

They've since added the regular P2210s to the Outlet page.

Also, Eyefinity kicks ass (surprise).

Congrats on the new Eyefinity setup. Glad that Dell fixed your problem. Gives me more confidence in their RMA process.
