Dell RMA - how does it work?

How long does it usually take to exchange a monitor with Dell? Do they send you one first, and then you use that box to return yours? I dont want to send mine back during the middle of winter break if I wont have a replacement for weeks. I want to enjoy the most out of my eyefinity setup before school starts.

The way it worked for me was they sent a new one first, then I sent the other one back in its original box with a prepaid sticker.

I don't remember the exact time it took for the other one to get to me, the sooner you do it the sooner you'll get it, of course. It was quick enough for the UPS (or was it Fedex?) lady to ask me "didn't you just get one of these?".

Any tips on dealing with their customer service? I cant understand half the stuff the indian guy is saying, and it seems like hes trying to do anything besides allow a replacement.
