i just called dell to see what kind of deal i could get on a Color Laser Printer. i was gonna pay cash then the guy tells me that i've been approved for a $4500 credit limit through the dell business thing. so what did i do? i bought a $450 color laser printer and a $2200 42" Plasma.

i think i made a bad decision tho, i dont even like plasmas all that much, we have 3 about 10 of them at work, and i really dont like the picture on it, i cant get HD where i live so the only thing i think it will be good for is dvd's. so i think im going to cancel the plasma. but with all that credit i want to buy something else, but what should i buy? i already paid cash for a 2405fpw and have no use fer another one, but i love electroix and i just wanna buy some new toys. was thinking about order the 30" widescreen lcd tv, but has anyone tried these? are they any good?

anyways, give me some ideas of what i could buy, good deals, great items, anything? thx u guys

Just personal opinion here, but why put yourself further into debt? Save the credit for if a current system of yours breaks down.

Get the printer, dump the screen.

Then... wait on the deals thread until you see one of those incredible server deals for $300 and buy one of them. :)

Hell, buy 2!

You will regret spending all that money later if you are simply buying because you have the credit. Been there.

did you ask them what the interest rate would be?? I hear they charge some pretty wild numbers like up to 29% which to me equils highway robbery.

well the intrest rate is like 20%, i make enough to pay for all this in cash but my credit is a little screwed so i figured this could also help out my credit a little.

i actually have no debt at all right now, and i could easily pay off a $4500 bill with a good months work. just an idea tho...

good idea on waiting for the dell deals tho thx.

Cool, bro...

Just don't buy on a whim, just because you can. Well though out, reasearched-- that feels good to get it in the house.

My 2c... not giving ya shit. :)

PS: would love a color laser in this house... hmmm. :) got any extra credit?!

IMHO:

to build your credit you should get a credit card you like, and make sure to always put something on it(groceries for example), but PAY IT OFF EACH MONTH!. If you are planning on a one time purchase this won't help you. may i recommend some reward cards where you get cashback or airline points for purchases? just my thoughts. toys are fun though.

edit: oh yeah, get some boxen and fold.

I work for CitiBank credit dept. never never never never buy anything on a credit card that 1) you don't have the money in the bank to pay for 2) Purchase something that you can't touch at the end of the month (ie groceries etc.) Credit cards arent just free lines of money, they can be horrible things in the hands of certain people. I would definately recommend taking a look at some reward cards (for instance Citi has a Dividend card that gives you 5% Cashback at Grocery store, gas stations, Pharmacies. and 1% everywhere else with an annual div. cap at 300.00.
