how do you rhink that woukd run guildwars, maybe wow and everquest 2, hl2, fear and bf2 on a dell 3007?
 
Well since the 7900gt is nearly as fast as my Nvidia 7800gtx KO was and since i ran a KO with my 30 I can tell you this. She did fabulous at 1280x900 and was barely adequate at naitive res for the FPS games. I would thing rpg would not be as much of an issue. My new 7900GTX superclocked allows me to play at naitvice res at a variety of seetings but i settled in at 2x tr aa for Fear soft shadows off every thing else up max. COD same BF2 2xTR aa with supersampling

Yeah... You DEFINITELY need a faster case in order to run games in decent settings... Time to upgrade your case buddy

We were all just messing with you. We brought up the case joke because you mentioned "nzxt lexa gaming case" which is irrelevent to your monitor question. Anyway, no matter what kind of hardware you get, you won't be able to play new games at the highest settings on the 3007FPW. The resolution is just too high. You'll still be able to run them in decent settings with what you plan on getting and they will look great though.
 
I run a x2 3800, 7800GTX 512 with my 3007. WoW will run at 2560x1600 at max settings with 25ish fps at the most crowded of areas. Fine for 40man BWL raids even with spell effects turned up.
 
yea i think your all underestimating the power of a 7900gtx, im about 90% sure that a 7900gtx will run hl2 with max quality 1600X1200 with maybe a lil AA, hell i can come close and im still on agp.
 
How much video RAM is on that video card? 512 would be better than 256, obviously. :) Me, I'm running a single ATI x1900XTX 512MB on an Athlon x2 4800+ with 4G of system RAM. Oblivion runs smoothly with most (but not all) settings maxed; Dungeons & Dragons Online runs smoothly with everything maxed. I haven't tried any FPS games yet, but I keep reading that FEAR won't run smoothly unless you turn a bunch of options down, or run at a lower resolution.

Anyway, this monitor looks pretty great in non-native resolutions, so i think one way or another you'll probably be ok. Obviously, if money were no object, I'd say upgrade card and processor. :)
 
how would i upgrade the 7900 gtx? Also like a x2 4400 + or something, i run my computer right now at 1280 x 1024 or something like that, i don't really care about the resultion i just like having a fatass monitor that i can play games on
 
What about that CPU ? Every benchmark i've read it says the higher the resolution the less the CPU is counting.. When running at 2560x1600 it doesn't really matter what CPU to take since the videocard is the bottleneck ?

I doubt you can play games at that resolution at high.. Sure you can't play with 'eye-candys' on.
 
I ran WoW fine at 2400x1624 or something like that with a opty 170 at 2.2 2gb or ram and a 1900xtx on my 24" crt

lol 1600x1200 my x700 Pro does fine with HL2 and everything maxed out and 4x aa on. If i were you i would go with a 2405FPW.

Oh yes! The Source engine is a breeze.....I have seen frame rates in the 100's at max resolution on my 30
