Dell has some refurb 2709's and I can use my Dell credit to get another 3% off plus I have a coupon. So it would be about $500 shipped. I am a gamer, not hardcore but I so like to play say BF2 and Dragon Age. I also use Vysnc. Is the Dell 2709 good for games? I probably use my system for about 80% of web surfing and other stuff and 20% gaming. Would it be worth while to get it, or does it have some problems with input lag etc....

Thanks

I got it anyways. I can always return it I paided $520..I just hope I get something other than REV A00

Though I've never used a 2709w for any gaming, for all office use (web browsing, excel, etc) its been great at the office. Your sig shows a Samsung 24" monitor I presume? Anything wrong with it in particular? You may want a higher res screen & if you have the extra cash try http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=224-8284 that out. I know its had some problems in the latest macs but speak with a rep. Maybe Dell has worked things out.
Ninja Edit, well then I hope you enjoy

Yeah that's too much $$$ that would be like $600 more no thanks...

I own the Dell 2709W (rev A02) and I like it.
I was able to achieve a satisfying picture after performing a thorough calibration using a colorimeter (great white balance, very good gamma curve but barely accurate primaries and secondaries colors).

This monitor uses a wide color gamut which tends to saturate the colors.
Fortunately, a sRGB picture mode is available for fixing the oversatured colors issue but at the cost of somewhat screwing the white balance.

Gaming on my 2709W is a very pleasant experience. I do not feel any input lag and the respond time is fast enough for me.
