So, i'm considering buying a new lcd again since my awful experience with an hp w2207, on a price range up to $299. Over brightness and color shifting are my biggest problems with lcds, brightness more than anything. With that in mind, ips seems like a natural choice. Thanks to Constantinos and Jis enlightenment on the 2209WA topic, i'm down to

Dell 2209wa
Dell 2007fp (4:3)

but i'm open to suggestions. Once again, over brightness is my main concern. Some people already complaining about eye strain, headache, etc or setting the brightness to 0, together with text being too sharp give me bad memories of the hp w2207. Jis last post gives me some hope on the 2209wa though.

1) So, you folks that are sensitive to brigtness and got a hand on one of these monitors, what's your take on it?
2) Would the 2007fp be better for reading?

I'm ready to give up on input lag if that means i'll be able to stay in front of it, seriously.

Now, about the text sharpness of the 2209wa, i guess it's due the pixel pitch being high (plus outdated font rendering). Pixel pitch of 0.282mm(2209wa) versus 0.255mm(2007fp) tells me the 2007fp is going to be better for text, but perhaps too small? any flaws on my reasoning?

I'd really appreciate all the help i can get.

Thanks in advance.
