A guy on ebay about 1 hour from me is selling alot of 2007WFPs for 309+ shipping and he says they are REV 04. Arent those S-IPS panels?

It could be a S-IPS panel. However, there has been a "huge" influx of people getting Rev 04 S-PVA panels just recently.

Maybe ask the guy if you can view the service menu when you come to pick it up?

What should the model be tho that is S-IPS? and is the PVA bad?

The only surefire way to check which panel is being used it accessing the service menu. The panel id you are looking for is RT803. PM330 is the one that you don't want.

You can find instructions on how to access the service menu (and any other information concerning the monitor) by checking out post #1 of the huge Dell Lottery thread stickied in the Display forum.

The PVA isn't bad. The only gripe I have about it is the loss of details when viewing something dark straight on.

Anyways there is already a huge thread about this monitor that will answer the questions you have asked, along with other 'mini' threads you can find by using the search function.

So in the menu I want RT803? right?

He says they just got the monitors less then a week ago and will only ship so i cant go there. Also Going from a Dell 1907FP to the 2007WFP even if it is a PVA will I be that disappointed to not liking it?

How old is your 1907. If its not that old, the panel is probally a TN panel where a PVA panel will be an upgrade:)

Yeah the speed on the 2007 is faster than the 16ms the Dell site shows and 6 gtg was on Philips site when I was shopping last winter. I got 2 S-PVA's though and they were bad so I sent them back and got this instead:

Playing Dells lottery with Dell is awful (took my 2 months fix issues) and playing it with someone on ebay seems not a good idea.

How could they be that bad? and the NEC is overpriced and glossy screens are bad, IMO.

Oh it's that bad. The pics below were taken on my 2007wfp S-PVA. The top photo shows the display face on. The lower pic shows the display from an angle. Details in dark areas of photos were blacked out substantially and when you use a display like this you quickly develop a habit of tipping from side to side to see what the heck your looking at. The display here was set to 50% brightness. A dilema with this monitor was that if a person made it brighter to see details it was glaringly bright with washed out colours. There was no middle (though using monitor in Mac mode had better gamma than PC mode imo). Watching videos was very bad as many dark scenes were almost unwatchable. Both my Dell monitors also had stuck pixels and backlighting. When I got the NEC I was skeptical it could be worth all the price but within 10 minutes of opening box I realised it was worth the cost and more. That's not to oversell the NEC because if your a gamer on a budget you don't need an NEC. However if you like photography the clarity is stunning because the antiglare looks like dust when you have a sharp photo up.

well if its that bad and suck pixels Dell would of sent out 2 new ones for you if you have the warranty.
