After a few hours of monitor use, all of the sudden it will enter power save mode. When I shut it off and turn it back on, it says that "No activity is being sent from the computer" or something along those lines, and to press a keyboard key or click a mouse button to wake it, but alas that does not help.

My only option is to shutoff (restart doesn't help, won't show POST or anything) my computer, and then turn it back on a minute later, and then it's fine.

Any ideas? This is ruining my graphic design work and my gaming.

Sounds like either your cable is loose, or you have a problem in the display or card that manifests itself after its been running for a period of time. I'd try checking the cables.... then try using the display on a different computer to see if you get a hit.

I agree... Also check the power management stuff to see if you didn't accidentally enable power down mode for the display causing issues afterwards.

Hmm, no different power settings, everything is off.

Any other ideas?
It may be time to call Dell for an rma...if you haven't had it over 21 days you'll get a new (not refurb) cross-shipped to you. If it's been over 21 days it will probably be a refurb...but a working refurb is better than what you have right? If the replacement does the same then the issue is either with the cable, videocard or drivers.

Seems to still be happening.

I loaded up Lord of the Rings Online, set my window for the game to 1680x1050, and in 10 minutes my screen went into power save mode.

Any other ideas?
