I've had tested several TN based LCD (Samsung 931C last victim). I've had Acer 1951, NEC 90GX2, Viewsonic VX922, Samsung 930B, LG 1970HR, Daytek. All of them more or less were lucking in colors (6bit panels) and viewable angles. The purpose for my LCD is to do some photo editing, internet and little bit of gaming (popcop games, football manager
), nothing that requires kick a$$ system
This is my first PVA type panel based LCD. So far so good. Factory menu says its got AMLCD (LTM190E4-L02) V1TO3 panel.
pros:
- colors, colors and colors. I don't know if it is a full 8bit, but if it is a 6bit its doing some excellent dithering.
- angles are very good.
- good build, I love HAS factor.
- videos/movies probably due to color improvement look much better.
- usb inputs.
cons:
- no contrast adjustment via controls, for a workaround I can use nvidia tool to set it, so it no big deal.
- slow 20ms panel, not for gamers.
- some little ghosting when playing video
If you don't play games, I would totally recommend this LCD. I might consider buying DELL 2007FP (higher resolution, plus better panel S-PVA or if I'm lucky ... ) if the price drops.
