I'm trying to decide what monitor to buy for the new setup I am planning.
So far the leading candidate is the Acer AL2623W which I can get for £545 (approx $1075USD). The only 24's I can find which are cheaper are its little brother the AL2423W and the Dell 2407 at £449 and £518 respectively, most other 24" models are at least £100 more than the 26" Acer. The Dell 2707WFP is approx £300 ($590) more expensive. Bear in mind I am gonna have to replace my X850XT gfx card in order to run whatever I buy so make it a total budget of approx £800 including an nVidia 8800 series card.
Whatever I buy is replacing my old 24" widescreen TV and my current 17" CRT monitor which is why I havent considered anything under 22". I had, for a while settled on the Samsung 226BW but then Acer went and released the ALxx23 series monitors.
Is the Acer too good to be true or is it hidden gem?
