For work in our conference room we have a PC connected to a 53" LCD, we have many contractors who like to use skype when they can for conference call if they cant call in for what ever reason.

i had used my Logitech USB microphone to see how it would record and work for voice but it wasnt great

I was curious of what options i may have for a more quality microphone for the PC which can be used for Skype but also used for recording meetings?

our PBX system does recording if people call in, but also looking into if we can use the phone as a recoding device but no luck yet.

i figure my budget is sub $100...

Depends on what you want. Do you want something that the speaker holds close to their mouth, or do you want something to capture the whole room? For a single speaker, held mic you can't really go wrong with a Shure SM-58. That is the gold standard of reasonably price, dynamic vocal mics. If you want something to capture the room you are looking more at an array microphone. Something like this perhaps.

something to capture the room kind of mic, thanks for the link :) now i know where to start looking and at what.

Mics like that work fine. They are just made more for a single person than a room. You speak right in to it.

ya, our conference room table is rectangular so i need something that has a good range on it.

For sure looking for an array microphone then. They deal better with reducing noise and having large areas for pickup.
