CD's that I burned back in 2000 have gone bad. I made 20 of them, and everyone of them doesn't work. Is it the cheap media that I used, or do CD's decompose over time? If I want to have them last, what brand should I use?

Yes they do degrade over time which is a shame, I use fuji cdrs and I have good success with those. I know I read a article somewhere( I will search for it later) about the best way to take care of cds to slow the process of it degradation.

heh, some of my precision media from 2000 has become translucent starting at the center. It has to be the light issue, I didnt take care of the media and since I went with win2k and xp, I ceased to care about my 98 copy except I still keep it to keep my upgrade licenses legit.
