All right,
The original thread here is being updated. Since big Moose moved the thread, which btw got me the answer to the mobo question, I have decided to let the [H]orde know. So without further ado:
I have a SiS 735 chipset from Amptron. Pretty shitty mobo. I powered it on and it worked but no o/c options whatsoever. However, the CPU is a Athlon XP/Duron 1700+.
since I had the discarded case, I stripped it and got a generic 300W PSU, an Antec case fan and the power switch and reset switch, which btw was literally pulled out.Hurray for strength. Not a bad deal for something I got free.
Unfortunately, since I moved out of my dorm, I will only be able to ower this stripped rig in August, but look for a BIG boost from me. Basically you will be looking at an AXP 1700+, a P4 Willamette 1.4 ghz and a dual Xeon setup.
I would now like to take a moment to thank life which decided that I should get a compie to pay for the generally shitty semester I have had in college. However, I would like to say that between a 1700+ and possibly a 3.7 GPA, I would have gone for the GPA.
Yeah, I know, that is not the attitude of a [H]orde boy but I am trying to be a grad student, maybe work with Vijay.
