Dead Silent PC-Possible without overheating?

Most of the things we use today were inteded to be air cooled -correct me if I am wrong. I am coming from a loud performance pc-loud fans, performance parts, etc, and ima replace everything loud with quietness-its mostly fans and heatsinks. I am wondering if any of you here have built in the past a dead silent pc that didnt have any overheating issues. I am sacrificing CFM for quietness, and to tell you the truth its really worth it in my opinion if you have good hearing to have a quiet pc. Im kinda worried about overheating issues? I mean should i be? everything was intented to be aircooled as i mentioned above. I want to replace my 6 casefans(72.3CFM each 50dBA) with quiet ones(round 30CFM give or take 23-25dBA). That means my temps are gonna go up, but how much higher are we talking bout here, 5C-7C, or 5C-10C?, thats pure guessing cuz the temperature of the room also comes in as a factor. I have an AMD64 system, I dont like cool&quiet technology cuz it keeps lagging during games since the voltages fluctuate. To sum it all up, who here has a dead silent PC or near a dead cilent PC, tell me your temps plz and if your an A64 user thats even better, cuz were kinda in the same boat then, and do you have any overheating issues-such as random shutdowns or crashes?
 
You could go water cooling inorder to cut noise down....
 
I am using 32CFM fans with like 25dba on low via my fan controler and the switch on the my LianLi case. My case sits at about 30C or so, and highest it goes to is like 35.
 
I ran an AXP mobile at a low speed, 1300 or so with a really low voltage, like 1.1. It's actually possible, but u need some big heatsinks :)
 
It sounds like you need to move to 120mm fans. I'm using 4 120mm (2 intake, 2 exhaust) each around 60cfm/25db with a Zalman 7000cu on a stock P4 2.4c and have a case temp of ambient +2 and a CPU temp of 28 at idle.
 
CHOOSE performance or quiet

you want something high performance you're going to generate a lot of heat.

3 things can decrease noise

1- water cooling
2- larger slower rpm fans
3- vapophase (depending on system, some are quieter than others)

or you could always get a fanless 600Mhz Via CPU and have the performance of about a 400Mhz Pentium3.
 
i built a 2.4p4 rig that was near silent, i used a chieftec case and had all 4 fans running @ 7v (panaflo L)

of course i was also using a passively cooled gf3 and seagate hdd

now it's still possible but your components are going to get pretty warm. if you absolutely don't care about temps then it's easy. if you do care about temps, then wc is your only option.

also, go with seagate or samsung hdds
 
That's a nice case. Instead of replacing the fans, I would suggest getting a fan controller/rheobus and just run them all at low speeds... see how that works. A controller is much cheaper than just all new (quiet) fans.
