dead PSU?

Helo there,

I think my PSU died. I was running memtest and I cut off the power and then when I tried to boot up the PSU make a quick electrical noise like click and I a little spark I can see through the window (Tt 480W Butterfly with a window) and nothing happens. Clear bios and still the quick noise and little spark.

I have another PSU to try but my hard drive is SATA2 and the spare PSU does not have sata conectors so I wonder if I can plug the sata 2 drive using the normal PSU power?????

yes you can plug sata drives using 4pin molex from PS

Great so i can test it using my girlfriends PSU (I hope she agrees as she just told me she is happy about my pc not working for some days )

Some SATA drives don't have a Moltex power option, the new Seagate 7900.10 drives is an example of this. But if your does, then it doesn't hurt to use it.

You have pretty good deals in the USA

I am afraid here in the UK and rest of Europe everything is more expensive
