Ok, so getting ready to fire up my last cards, I had 3 GX2s and my bro's came in yesterday
Anyways, it looks like I have 2 that work fine, one that the screen blinks (testing more now) and one that won't let the system post (gives error beeps but I don't have the manual anymore)

Any suggestions or common problems with thesecards that I should know about

I don't know of a fix for your problem, but if you can't get it to work let me know.
I have one that blew a memory chip on one of the boards.
If I can make our cards work as one, we could sell it and split the cash!
Let me know.

Damn it, now my working one I put back In nostromo won't do a monitor on the second card

ah, WTF

as FrEaKy would say, BAKE IT!

I knew that would come up.

Is there any chance (just a theory) that my mobo could be a limiting factor? After god only knows how many driver re-do's, I've got one GX2 (1708) and one 88GT (1793) crunching, 3 clients in all (total of 17k PPD and some change)

I'm thinking maybe this mobo only works well with 3 or less GPU's (the same number of PCIx slots and the same number of GTX 260's I had on this board in my last refresh)

Just a theory, but could that be a factor? If so, I've got another mobo I'll have to try out with the other ones, but I don't know If I can get to that today

MSI P7N SLI

I think its the 750i chipset

Its not the 750i chipset.

The manual does state exactly how much space but Im thinking you just dont have enought rom space for the card to be registered.

I have that problem on my X8DAL-i, its only 4mb so I can only run two GPU's.

I can run a two regular cards, but I cant run a regular card and a dual at the same time :(

I've got another board, I got from lassiter, I think it's a 650i or something like that

He had dual 295's on it, so It should run two GX2s right? Too bad I'm on orders for the next 4 days, I won't get it up till Friday, atleast I got the 8800GT running, should put me near 65-70k if I get good units

I hope I can get a few working, I'll need to sell them and get the money to fund my SR-2 project

Do whatever needs to be done, Vaulter. Whatever you think is the best option for your farm. :)

I gotta break 100k, and I think that will be much easier once I get a SR-2 rig. With that, 2 dedicated i7s, and 1 Fermi/8800 GT combo I should be set, and have a sub 100$ power bill too!

More important is getting it all in the rack, I'm short on space. I've got one rig racked up, should get #2 this coming weekend, and I've got the shelf for Skynet already installed. 1 more i7 and I'll have a 6' tower of folding power!!!
/evil laugh

Vaulter, remove the card and try a different card. If it posts fine from the other card than your video card is busted and you will either A: Get an RMA for it if it is still under warrenty, or, B: BAKE IT!

ALso, does the mobo have onboard video? IF it does, check to make sure your BIOS isnt set to onboard video only!

Im telling you if that board has an 4MB flash rom size it wont work

Only way to tell is to try each dual card individually one by one

CUDA mobo's such as the X8DTF-6F have a 32MB flash ROM to accomodate a large amount of video cards.

If you were around when that guy on FF was tring to get 7 GX2's running on his P6T6, he ran into the same limitation.
